Danielle Helena is a new talented African American artist whose music can be put into no one category. Her new cd, Like Sunrise, gives the listener a glimpse into her world. In her debut song and video "From Here" (click link to listen) the melodious strings and bass accompanied by her soulful, jazz vocals is soothing to the the soul. With songs like "Falling," "Next," and "Is it You (Possibly" Danielle takes us on the ride of falling in love, being loved and love gone awry. Overall, from beginning to end, the diversity of instruments, vocals, rhythms and poetic words brings a freshness to the ears of music listeners. A mother, wife and business entrepreneur, changing the rigid routine and image of "church" through video production is to what she's committed. She has inspired many women along her journey through her funny, silent shorts, positive affirmations and comedic musical parodies; my favorite being "Entrepreneur" a spoof of the legenday Sade's "Smooth Operator."
